✝️ Scripture — Isaiah 40:31
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint."
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint."
There are seasons in life when our strength feels low. As we grow older, we may notice fatigue more easily, our bodies may not move as quickly, and emotional burdens can feel heavier than they once did. Yet this verse reminds us that true strength does not come from our own effort alone — it comes from the Lord.
God designed our bodies to move, and movement itself can become a form of worship. When we walk, stretch, breathe deeply, or gently exercise, we are participating in the life God has given us. Physical movement increases circulation, strengthens muscles, improves mood, and supports the brain, but it also reminds us that we are still alive with purpose.
Isaiah does not say we will never feel tired. Instead, he promises that when we place our hope in God, our strength will be renewed. Sometimes renewal comes through prayer. Sometimes through rest. Sometimes through simply putting one foot in front of the other.
Even gentle movement can be an act of trust. Each step can become a prayer. Each breath can become a reminder that God is sustaining you.
You may not need to run today. You may only need to walk. And that is enough.
